The over-rail footbridge at the Dimboola station under repair on Wed.5.9

After a long wait the footbridge at the Dimboola station is currently under repair. The deck and the stairs at each end have been removed and will be replaced with new materials.

In this view, one end of the structure has been encased in plastic so that the old lead-based paint can be removed in preparation for a repainting. - Wed.5.9

The unusual combination of NR74-G531-8146-DL42 on the front of up steel service WP2 at Dimboola on the morning of Mon.30.7, in Ghan, Freight Australia, Freightcorp and Pacific National colours respectively (the middel two units are lettered for PN but retain the colours of their previous owners.)

In fading light, XR552 and XR557 make their way through the shadows as they ease loaded grain train 9124 out of the balloon loop at the Birchip GrainFlow Centre onto the main line for the overnight run to Geelong.  Mon.9.7

The G was to collect the rake of stored VHBF hoppers, but for an unknown reason the wagons were not taken.

Could this be one of the last trains to operate on the Yaapeet line - with the current trends for producers to deliver grain directly to the larger recieval sites such as Dimboola and Birchip, will this be one of the lines to face closure after the government take over of the rail infrastructre?

CFCLA's new locomotive, VL351, on its first run through western Victoria, on its way to Darwin for ore train duties.

CFCLA's EL63 and VL351 departing Dimboola at around 09 07 on the morning of Sun.18.2 as train number 9759 Melbourne to Adelaide goods.

This was the first member of the VL class to run through western Victoria, on its way to Adelaide for testing and ultimately to Darwin for ore train duties.
