El Zorro operate this new service between Portland and Melbourne three times a week for Iluka Resources, transporting containerised minneral sands from the processing plant near Hamilton to Melbourne for export. In its first few weeks of operation, this has been the standard motive power.

This train was returning from Adelaide on the first of an anticipated number of shuttles loading at locations in New South Wales, unloading in Adelaide and travelling in both directions via Melbourne and western Victoria.

| El Zorro loaded their first broad gauge grain service on Fri.18.1 at AWB GrainFlow’s Sea Lake terminal.
The train consisted of a rake of 38 yellow and green AHGX grain hoppers hauled by locomotives S302-S311-T376-T413-T357 in ex-V/Line Passenger, CFCLA, SSR, VR and VR colours respectively, making for quite a colourful train.
